Mileaters’ Walk  -  Upwey

Starting at the Upwey Wishing Well 14 mileaters made their way up onto the Ridgeway behind the Wishing Well. The only major uphill. From the top there were wonderful views in all directions - the day was warm and dry. Heading west to Corton Farm we stopped and had coffee after a visit to the chapel there. There was much activity at Corton as Good Energy was installing 42 solar panels in the field behind the beautiful Georgian house. 

From there we walked south up onto the lower ridge and back along to the Island Nursery at the other end of Upwey. We were all glad to reach there in one piece as a few of the 22 styles (according to Lesley P.!) were somewhat wobbly and covered in brambles and nettles. Most of us had lunch at the nursery in their expanded and upgraded cafe.
