The photo above, is a Garden club trip to Little Bredy's walled garden. 3 Anne's and 2 Lesley's piled into a car and set off for the walled garden at Little Bredy. When we arrived, it was closed for the season. But according to their website they were open from 2pm. So, we just had a short walk to the waterfall and large pond.
The next 3 photos are of the AGM at Poole Light house. Eight members attended the AGM at Poole this year. A parade of banners opened the meeting with the usual singing of Jerusalem. Once all the official business was done it was time for the speakers.
First up was Dr Annie Gray who spoke about the life of Winston Churchill’s cook; Georgina Landemare.
A break for lunch and a chance to nip over to the Dolphin centre for a bit of retail therapy.
Back at the Lighthouse and the second speaker was Amanda Owen the Hill Shepherdess, from the TV series, ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’. She gave a very good talk on how she became a shepherdess and a mother of 9 children on one of the remotest hill farms in the country.
The National Anthem brought the meeting to a close and we all returned safely - home beating the rush hour.
