Martinstown village notices

Many of us have a network of family, friends, neighbours and community volunteers supporting us to get the food, medicines and essential household items that we need. We're proud to see our communities come together to help each other during this time and to see support groups launched across the Dorset Council area.

But there will be some vulnerable people who don't have any support networks available to them.

To support these people specifically, we've set up a dedicated helpline: 01305 221000. Lines open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Or you can email communityresponse@dorsetco>uncil.gov.uk.

Please be aware of this utterly disgusting scam that is currently doing the rounds.

Please pass this information on to the most vulnerable and ensure that they do not click on any of the links provided in the email and that they do not pass on any personal details over the phone/email.

VILLAGE HALL CLOSURE
In light of the current Government advice regarding Coronavirus safety measures, it is with regret that we have decided to close Martinstown Village Hall until further notice. All our regular users have been contacted, as have those with bookings through to the end of April.  We will keep things under regular review and contact those with bookings after April 30th as the situation becomes clearer.  Contact us if you have any queries about this.  We look forward to seeing you as soon as we can  -  meanwhile, stay safe.

The playground is also closed and no safety checks will be carried out during the period of closure.

Hello everybody...
I’m still running the shuttle service on Mondays and Fridays 1010 from the shop. But in these uncertain times if there is anything anybody needs that they can’t get from the local shop I’m happy to grab what I can and deliver straight to your house. Please support your local shop 1st and for most.

People needing prescriptions/medication picked up please let me know before hand and I’ll deliver before picking people up.

This is a service that all of A-Line taxis are willing to provide at anytime of the day but after 6 years of being your shuttle service I feel a little more compelled to help who I can at martinstown. Please spread the word to those who don’t have access to a computer.

Tag me if you need anything or call A-Line Taxis on 01305 264747.

Stay safe everyone...
Damon Clarke - A-Line Taxis

Waste Watch Scheme
- operating in the village.

Although papers can be separated and recycled with the bi-weekly refuse collection this scheme means that the local parish can financially benefit from separate treatment of newspapers.

There are two collection points each located at the Parish Office and the car park of the Village Hall by means of a green bin or box.

Your used newspapers and magazines can be bundled into manageable piles and securely tied with sturdy string. Newspapers and magazines should be bundled separately but can be placed in the same boxes and are regularly collected.

Please use this method of recycling where possible as credit is received via the current scheme to the parish for use towards local matters.
